NewStep Networks Demonstrates Fixed-Mobile Convergence Solution for Cable Providers at NCTA National Show
NewStep Networks shows how cable providers can take advantage of their investment in voice networks and add mobile services

Toronto, Ontario | April 10, 2006 — NewStep Networks, Inc. today announced that it will demonstrate seamless Voice Call Continuity between cellular and Wi-Fi networks, and between mobile and fixed phones at NCTA-The National Show in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center, April 9-11, 2006

At the show, NewStep Networks will outline how cable service providers can combine their investment in voice networks with the latest capabilities of mobile networks and devices in order to bring differentiated fixed-mobile services to market quickly. NewStep's solutions can be tailored to fit the needs of cable service providers, especially with regards to high-value bundled services that incorporate mobile capabilities.

The demonstrations will show NewStep's standards-compliant Voice Call Continuity solution, Mobile Call Handoff, which allows subscribers to make and receive calls on dual-mode cellular/Wi-Fi phones, with seamless handover between cellular and Wi-Fi networks without any interruption in the voice call. The solution can be deployed within the cable network, and inter-operate with CDMA, GSM, UMTS, or any other mobile access technology.

NewStep will also demonstrate their ability to pickup incoming mobile calls on a number of devices, including hard, soft, IP and TDM phones, and to move ongoing calls from any device to another, all while keeping the conversation going. These Mobile Call Pickup capabilities can be deployed today, using existing mobile handsets without any client software, and complement NewStep's ability to deliver single number, extension dialing, and single voicemail across existing mobile and broadband networks.

"NewStep Networks is keenly aware of the needs of cable service providers to capitalize on their broadband network investments, and to differentiate their service offerings against traditional fixed operators," said Neil Baimel, president and CEO for NewStep Networks. "With the growth in mobile phone usage among consumers and business customers, being able to bring new services like single number reach and seamless cellular / Wi-Fi mobility, will help cable providers generate a quicker ROI on their voice networks."

NewStep Networks will be located at booth #3450 for the duration of NCTA-The National Show from April 9-11, 2006.
