Onaro Positioned in the Visionaries Quadrant in Leading Industry Analyst Firm's Magic Quadrant
Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
BOSTON, MA - March 28, 2007 - Onaro, Inc., the leader in storage service management (SSM), today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the visionaries quadrant in the 'Storage Resource Management and SAN Management Software, 2007 Magic Quadrant' report. Gartner's Magic Quadrant positions vendors in a particular market segment based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute that vision.
According to the Gartner report, "Visionaries are forward-thinking, but their execution has not propelled them into leadership positions. These vendors are differentiated by product innovation, but they have not achieved a completeness of solution or the sales and marketing expertise required to give them the high visibility of leaders."
During the period covered in the report, Onaro reached key milestones which included achieving 4x revenue growth, the doubling of its customer count, inking a world-wide sales distribution agreement with Hitachi Data Systems, shipping three new products, and establishing Service Connect partnerships with Cisco and Oracle. In addition to evaluation in Gartner's Magic Quadrant, the company also received numerous other industry citations including a Byte & Switch Top 10 Private Company, a NetworkWorld One of Six Storage Startup Companies to Watch, an eWEEK Excellence Award, an InfoStor MVP Finalist award, and a Network Storage Conference Finalist award.
"Traditional storage resource management (SRM) applications continue to miss the mark for customers interested in gaining control of their networked storage assets," said Doug McNary, president and CEO, Onaro, Inc. "Onaro represents a new class of more focused management applications that empower storage teams to dramatically improve configuration discovery, service monitoring, capacity planning, change management, and compliance. We consider our positioning in the visionaries quadrant by Gartner confirmation of Onaro's mission to fundamentally change the way storage infrastructure is managed."
Onaro was also named one of Gartner's "Cool Vendors in Storage Management, 2007" in March 2, 2007 report released by Gartner, Inc. Written by Dave Russell and Carolyn DiCenzo, research vice presidents, the report, "Cool Vendors in Storage Management, 2007," selected companies which offer innovative, impactful, and intriguing solutions in the storage management marketplace.
