Rand Hindi, PhD
Rand is an entrepreneur, bioinformatician and algorithm architect. He is the founder of Snips (www.snips.net) a big data innovation firm specialized in predictive modeling for smart cities. Snips works with large corporations and public institutions to turn their existing data into impactful products and services.
Rand started coding at the age of 10, and at 14 co-founded the first French social network, Planet Ultra, before starting his own web development company at the age of 15. During his studies, he worked as a consultant in algorithmic trading, and simultaneously created a personalized diet using machine learning, which he successfully tested on himself.
Rand is deeply involved in the European tech and social entrepreneurship scenes, having founded Univators, a non-profit organization connecting more than 50 networks across the globe to tackle global challenges using technologies. He is the France ambassador for the Sandbox Network, a frequent contributor in startup medias, a mentor in several startups, a jury member in tech competitions, and a multiple hackathon winner.
Rand holds a BSc in Computer Science and a PhD in Bioinformatics from University College London (UCL), and two additional graduate degrees, from Singularity University in the Silicon Valley, and THNK in Amsterdam.
